Coming soon – trackofwords.com

WordPress subscribers – take note!

Hi there, and thanks for taking a look at this blog post.

Track of Words has been up and running as a .wordpress.com site for a little over three years now, and in that time I’ve made over 500 posts which have been read many thousands of times. I’m excited to confirm now that there are some changes coming up for the blog, beginning with the migration over to a brand new domain – it’s not live just yet, as I’m finishing off a few little tweaks, but trackofwords.com is coming soon and I wanted to let you all know.

To begin with, once the new domain is live it’s going to look and feel essentially the same – there might be a few minor changes here and there, but for the most part you shouldn’t notice much difference. Over time however, I’ll be able to take advantage of some additional functionality to make informed, data-driven changes to how the site works which I hope will make positive improvements to the experience of using it.

Why am I telling you this now, if nothing’s going to change just yet?

Well first of all, I believe in being open about what I’m doing and I think it’s worth giving a little bit of notice about the change of domain. Additionally, while I’ll be migrating all of the existing subscribers over to the new domain, I’d like to point something out to existing subscribers…

If you’re a WordPress user and you currently subscribe to Track of Words, when the site migrates to the new domain you’ll only see new posts in the WordPress Reader – you’ll no longer get emails each time I make a post. If you’d like to keep receiving email updates about new posts on Track of Words, please take a moment to click on the Follow this blog via email option that you can currently see on the right hand side of every page (or at the bottom, if you’re reading on a mobile device). I’ll be making this option available in the new domain as well, so don’t worry if you forget!

If you’ve already signed up via email, you don’t need to worry as you’ll still receive emails as normal.

I’ll make sure to post again once the new domain is live, to let everyone know. In the meantime, if you’ve got any questions, comments or feedback you can drop me an email at michael@trackofwords.com and I’ll do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Thanks for reading,

Michael.
